How to detect grey market product

Grey market - parallel imports from other markets - are a perennial challenge for all sales teams.

Updated over a year ago

I sometimes have stock problems from other countries. I need to know where that stock is and where it came from.

Solving the problem with Eebz

A Grey market on the app means the GTIN (EAN) barcode does not match the territory that the retailer is in.

As we work with you, we have the correct codes in our system, and we can compare the retailers reporting to your website. We can match the 12-digit number and check to see if its correct.

To check for a Grey Market in a retailer, please follow the below steps:

Step 1. Log into the system on app.eebz.com

Step 2. The Products button at the top will bring up the list of available products on your account. Click on a product name you would like to investigate.

Step 3. You will end up on the “My Resellers” tab, which lists the markets this product is available in. You can identify who may sell a potential grey market product if you see an Earth icon on the page. This is what you will see when the GTIN (EAN) barcode does not match the territory that the retailer is in. Please contact us if you see this icon next to a retailer.
