Case example: Using notifications to distributors to increase stock availability

A case example of how to increase stock availability - a great way to drive catalogue sales with little effort.

Updated over a year ago

When my product goes out of stock it becomes a lost opportunity. I need to see where I am missing sales as soon as they occur.

Solving the problem with Eebz

There are a variety of ways to check to see if a product is in or out of stock:

Availability Graph on Dashboard

Step 1. Log into the system on app.eebz.com and you will be taken to the Dashboard page.

Step 2. On the Dashboard page click on the “+ Add” at the bottom of the page, where a new tile will appear.

Step 3. Click on “Tile-type” and select “Availability - Single product”. Then click on the “Geography” you want to see the data from and the “Retailer”. Select the listing (Product) you want to view in the drop-down bar.

Step 4. Make sure you select the correct display period you want to see displayed in your graph, and press “Save”.

You should now get an availability graph showing like one above.

Availability Report in Playground

Step 1. Click on “More” on the top bar of the app and click on “Playground”. This is where you can view and create new reports within the app.

Step 2. To create a new report, click “Add” on the top right-hand side of the page.

Step 3. Now you need to fill in the new report. Where it says “New Report” change the name to whatever you want it to be but add Availability report to the title. Then click on the person icon and enable organization. This is so anyone in your organization can have visibility of the reports you create in the app.

Step 4. Under data make sure the report is displaying Availability as this report we a creating and not another property like “Lost buy box”.

Step 5. Add in what dates you want to see the Availability data from. Next to dates click on whether you would like to see live, weekly or daily data in the report.

Step 6. The second part is to now add the filters to the report by dragging the filter properties into the middle box. For Stock Availability Reports Brand and Geography need to be dragged into the middle box. When adding the filters in the report you need to search and select the correct brand in the brand territory and in geography box.

Step 7. The third part is adding in your row values. In “Row Values Equal To” add in 0 as we want that row value to be equal to out of stock. Now move on to selecting your rows and how you would like them to be displayed. First drag Geography into the middlebox and on the drop-down click on “blank". We select blank because it stops the rows summing up the below information in the rows. Then drag Reseller underneath Reseller and select “blank” again. Lastly, drag SKU Full Name underneath the product and select “lowest” because we want to see the lowest availability for that day i.e. out of stock. (These must be in the right order as displayed below).

Step 8. Now click “Save and view” and “Save” again.

Step 9. The report has now been created and displays the resellers with the products that show their stock availability for the date period you selected.

Step 10. You can download this report into a CSV file if you click on the download button next to the settings cog on the right-hand side of the report. Also, this report can be sent into an email to yourself and to other people in your organization.

If you need to amend this report, click on settings cog on the right-hand side of the report. This will take you back to the filters page where you can adjust your filters.
